Chronicle of a Fight for Inclusion, Bogota

Waste pickers work, generally in the informal sector, to recover recyclable material from waste and then sell it for recycling. They collect materials from individual homes, offices, and businesses, from the street and waste containers, and from dumpsites. The financial and environmental contributions they make to their local regions typically go uncalculated and underappreciated.

This short video tells the story of waste pickers in Bogota who worked to address their city’s garbage crisis in 2012.
